Am I Overpaying? (amioverpaying.fyi) is a free, independent tool based in Ontario, Canada. It lets you compare a rent, mortgage rate, grocery price or other household bill with a public benchmark or with what people nearby have shared. Contact: hello@amioverpaying.fyi.
Nothing on this site is financial, insurance, legal, real-estate or tax advice, or an offer to lend, insure or sell you anything. Figures are estimates from public data and from anonymous user entries. Published mortgage rates, flyer prices and insurance or telecom averages change, and your own qualification, location, fees and the product on the shelf can differ. Always confirm in store, with a lender or with your insurer. We are not affiliated with CMHC, Statistics Canada, any grocery chain, bank or insurer.
By submitting a check you agree we may store the anonymous fields described in the privacy policy and show rounded aggregates once enough people have shared. Do not submit someone else’s personal information, or try to identify a person from the public numbers. We may flag or remove unusual entries.
If you tick a consent box, you ask us to email you for that purpose only (monthly rent update, monthly mortgage update, weekly grocery deals, a city rent-report unlock, a coming-soon launch, a community “enough data” note, a place or country waitlist, or the price-match waitlist). Those are separate lists. We send a confirmation link before most mail. You can unsubscribe or delete your email using the links in every message. Details are in the privacy policy.
Use the site for personal, non-commercial checking. Do not overload it, scrape it in a way that harms the service, bypass rate limits, or use it to send spam. We may block abusive traffic.
The site is provided as is, when it is up. Benchmarks can be late, incomplete or wrong. We do not promise that a check, report or email will be available without interruption.
To the extent Ontario law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make using this site (for example signing a lease, switching lenders, or buying groceries), or for indirect or consequential loss. If a court finds we are liable anyway, our liability is limited to twenty Canadian dollars.
These terms and the site are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may still seek an injunction anywhere if needed.
We may update these terms. The date at the top is the latest version. If a change is material we will note it on this page.
