Questions
What counts as a deal?
A price at least 15% below the named average for that item. Every deal says which average it beat. Anything less than 15% below is a fair price, not a deal, so it stays out of the email.
Which average do you compare with?
Two different averages. The weekly deal list compares with the Ontario flyer avg: what Ontario flyers usually charge for that item. So "51% below" means below the flyer average, not below StatCan. The price checker compares with Statistics Canada's monthly Ontario average retail price (Table 18-10-0245-01, August 2026), which is a shelf price, not a sale price. Same 15% rule for both.
Where do the prices come from?
Deal prices are advertised prices from this week's Ontario grocery flyers (No Frills, Metro, Sobeys, Real Canadian Superstore and others). Averages come from flyer history and Statistics Canada.
Is the flyer price guaranteed?
No. Flyer prices are advertised deals. They can vary by location, sell out or end early. Always confirm in store.
How does price matching work?
Stores like No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, FreshCo, Giant Tiger and Walmart match a competitor's current flyer price. Show the flyer on your phone at the till. It usually has to be the same brand, size and weight. Policies change, so confirm in store.

When does the email go out?
Once a week, when the new Ontario flyers come out on Thursday.
